I noticed on State Superintendent O'Connell's twitter feed (@SSPIJack) that he is the opening speaker at this year's California County Superintendent's Education Services Association (CCSESA) annual conference at Asilomar. He tweeted the conference theme:

"Dynamic Leadership for Sustainable Improvement"

Who comes up with this stuff? Are they laughing when they say it? Actually, my theory is that there is a dart board in the CCSESA office. They paste a punch of eduspeak on the dart board and then one of the office staff throws darts to select the name. No, the more I think about, I don't think the staff came up with this. I have too much respect for them. I have met several of them and they are smart people. I suspect the theme came from the County Superintendents.

To me, this theme = Epic Fail. I predict nothing good will come of it. I hope I'm wrong.
